Value Statement

February 27, 2024

Dear Community Members and Supporters,

After silently battling years of public slander, we must publicly reiterate our unwavering commitment to our mission and values as a grassroots non-profit dedicated to racial equity, community, and partnership. Despite the attempts to tarnish our reputation, we stand firm in our principles and remain dedicated to serving our community with integrity and virtue.

At the heart of our organization lies a profound belief in the power of partnership and community. Throughout our journey, we have forged meaningful relationships with like-minded people and organizations that share our vision for positive change. Our collaborative work is a testament to the strength of these partnerships. Together with like-minded others, we have pioneered initiatives that address systemic inequities, promote racial justice, and foster community empowerment. Whether it’s through advocacy campaigns, educational programs, or grassroots mobilization efforts, our collaborative work exemplifies the power of solidarity and shared purpose.

Despite the adversities we have faced, our collaborative efforts have yielded significant achievements over the past 16 years. From advocating for policy reforms to implementing innovative programs, our impact has transcended the boundaries of the breastfeeding field and left a lasting imprint on our community.

Central to our work is the creation of safe spaces for both our community members and staff. In the face of defamation, we remain steadfast in our commitment to fostering an environment of inclusivity, respect, and support. We prioritize the well-being and safety of all individuals associated with our organization, and we will continue to uphold these values in all that we do.

As we confront these challenges head-on, we draw strength from the unwavering support of our community and allies. Together, we will overcome these obstacles and emerge more vital than ever. Our dedication to our mission and values remains unshakeable, and we will continue to serve our community with integrity and resilience.

Thank you for your unwavering support.

In solidarity,
