Q: What is the application deadline?

Q: What is the first day of training?

A: July 12, 2022

 

Q: What is the last day of training?

A: November 22, 2022

 

Q: Where will the training take place?

A: Virtual

 

Q: What is the class schedule?

A: Weekly on Tuesdays, 9am – 12pm

 

Q: How many classes are there?

A: 20

 

Q: How do I apply?
A: Apply at one of the following Michigan Works locations or call (248)276-1777. 

  • Pontiac office: 1850 N Perry St, Pontiac 
  • Novi office: 31186 Beck Rd, Novi

 

Q: Do I have to reside in Oakland County?

A: No, but you must fill out the application at either the Pontiac office or Novi office. You must be a

    Michigan resident preferably in the tri-county area.

 

Q: Who is the point at Black Mothers Breastfeeding Association?

Q: What is the attendance policy?

A: You must attend a minimum of 18 classes.

 

Q: What happens if I miss a session?

A: There will be time towards the end of the training for make-up sessions. However, this does

     not substitute for the aforementioned attendance policy.

 

Q: How many births must be attended for certification?

A: Trainees must attend 2 birth experiences.

 

Q: How many prenatal and postpartum home visits must I attend?

A: 3 prenatal visits and 3 postpartum visits per birth.

 

Q: What if I get denied by Michigan Works?

Q: Do I have to own a car?

A: Yes.  You must own a vehicle, have a valid driver’s license and proof of insurance.
