Marketia White, MPA is Founding Executive Director of a nonprofit organization. Mommies in the D seeks to address the lack of advocacy for young mothers to access the resources needed to ensure self-efficiency in their motherhood and personal endeavors. With a background in education and nonprofit leadership, Marketia has worked with servanthood in mind to lead an organization that empowers young mothers to youth and advocate for maternal health justice for young families. She cares deeply about the empowerment of Black women and girls and strives to bridge the gap of education and normalization of sexual and maternal health in marginalized communities. A native of Atlanta, GA, Marketia graduated with her Bachelors of Arts in Psychology with a minor in Business in 2014 and her Masters of Public Administration from Central Michigan University in 2019. Marketia is closely affiliated with the work of Reaching Our Sisters Everywhere, Inc (ROSE) wants to continue her maternal health education by becoming an IBCLC and strengthen her efforts to young families in their journey through resiliency.
