Angela Johnson, PhD

Dr. Angela Marie Johnson is a community-focused social scientist, published author, and founding Director of Reverent Health Group, a professional maternal health-focused team that provides training, education, and advocacy services. Dr. Johnson earned her Doctorate and her Master’s degrees in sociology from Michigan State University and her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Black Studies from Amherst College. For more than 20 years, Dr. Johnson has worked with various community groups, individuals, and organizations to improve health outcomes and to increase health equity for Black women and their families. Her work has informed maternal health programs, policy, and published research.
