About the Triple Crown Gala & Awards Ceremony

The Triple Crown Gala and Awards Ceremony is an evening dedicated to celebrating the community leadership, advocacy, and transformational change that is advancing maternal-child health and breastfeeding equity for Black families. For over 17 years, the Black Mothers’ Breastfeeding Association (BMBFA) has stood at the forefront of advocacy, creating community-driven solutions to eliminate racial disparities in maternal and infant health outcomes. This gala is a moment to honor that journey and the many individuals and organizations who have contributed to these efforts.

Set against the backdrop of the iconic Dossin Great Lakes Museum on Detroit’s Belle Isle, the event will bring together community leaders, advocates, and supporters to recognize the incredible achievements in breastfeeding advocacy, maternal health, and family empowerment. Honorees will be celebrated for their tireless dedication to improving the lives of Black families, showcasing the power of community-driven change.

At its core, the Triple Crown Gala is about community—a celebration of the partnerships, families, and advocates who have come together to transform systems and create healthier futures. The evening will highlight the critical work being done at the grassroots level, as well as innovative approaches that have emerged from those most affected by systemic inequities. This event is a powerful reminder that sustainable change is driven by the voices and efforts of the community itself.

As we gather to celebrate the progress made over 17 years, we also look forward to the future—one where every Black mother and baby receives the support, care, and opportunities they deserve. Join us for an unforgettable evening at Detroit’s historic Dossin Museum, as we continue to advocate for a future where Babies Win, Families Thrive, and Communities Transform.
