Q: What is the application deadline?

Q: What is the first day of training?

A: July 11, 2023

Q: What is the end of training?

Q: Where will the training take place?

A: Virtual OR In-Person at the McKenny Center

Q: What is the class schedule?

A: Weekly on Tuesdays:

In-Person, 9am – 12pm

Virtually, 6pm – 9pm

Q: How many classes are there?

A: 20

Q: How do I apply?
A: Watch the informational video to receive the link to the application.

Q: Do I have to reside in Oakland County?

A: No, but you must be a Michigan resident preferably in the tri-county area.

Q: What is the attendance policy?

A: You must attend a minimum of 18 classes.

Q: What happens if I miss a session?

A: There will be time towards the end of the training for make-up sessions. However, this does

     not substitute for the aforementioned attendance policy.

Q: How many births must be attended for certification?

A: Trainees must attend 2 birth experiences.

Q: How many prenatal and postpartum home visits must I attend?

A: 3 prenatal visits and 3 postpartum visits per birth. 

Q: Do I have to own a car?

A: Yes.  You must own a vehicle, have a valid driver’s license and proof of insurance.
