Damona Platt has transitioned from a longstanding member of Black Mothers’ Breastfeeding Association (BMBFA) into her new role as one of its Community-Based Doulas. In 2014, Damona successfully completed BMBFA’s first training class for Community-Based Doulas. Damona has a host of experiences dealing with the psychology of women in the Detroit community. She also has one daughter with whom she breastfed for nearly a year. Damona believes in empowering and supporting all women to fulfill their greatest capacity.
