Bus Tour: Brilliant Detroit
Cindy Eggleton is the Co-Founder and CEO of Brilliant Detroit, a nonprofit organization dedicated to building kid success families and neighborhoods where families with children 0-8 have what they need to be school ready, healthy, and stable. They do this by establishing and operating homes in high need neighborhoods that offer proven programming to families and children. Cindy leads on strategy, organizational partnerships, and fundraising, helping to bring the organization from one home with 50 participating families and five partners to seven homes with over 900 participating families and 80 partners in just two and a half years.
While co-founding Brilliant Detroit, Cindy served as the Chief Strategy Officer at Detroit Rescue Mission Ministries and, prior to that, she worked with the United Way of Southeastern Michigan (UWSEM). At UWSEM, she moved from a consultant to the Senior Director of Education Preparedness and oversaw a $60 million education portfolio. In this position, she worked on improving high school graduation rates, foreclosure prevention, and more, and was responsible for bringing the Social Innovation Fund for early childhood to Detroit.
Cindy earned a Master’s in Psychology from Wayne State University and ran her own communications, strategy, and design company, CERB Associates, LLC for 21 years.
